Strong in Governance!

This week, I had met 2 groups of incredible people, who are going to work closely with MC in the coming 9-month. They are Justin, Frank, Alice and Ivan from our Supervisory Group and Agnes and Connie from Development Team.

Instead of explaining the roles and responsibilities of the team to them, I spent pretty much time on introducing the idea of "Year of Excellence" and our Scoreboard 05/06. I truly believe, with their support, not only our ambitious plan can be translated into very concrete results, but also create an extremely strong governance structure for AIESEC in HONG KONG.

In short, I see the strong corelation between Year of Excellence and Strong in Governance. As long as we had the best people and very well established governance structure, it will be much easier for the ground work and create more remarkable impact.

Truly hope everyone of you can live in these 2 principles.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE DOING TOO MUCH AIESEC WHEN :

When on any application form, you use words like sustainable and strategise, job oriented and information seminars as easily as 'hello'.

You say that "My Sister Got Matched" instead of 'engaged' and that "Her Realisation is on such and such a date" instead of her marriage.

You only pay enough attention to College once a year....and that also to sign up a partnership between AIESEC and your College.

You stay home on a Saturday and your mother asks you "Dont U have AIESEC activity today?".."Get Out of the House"...

People ask you "Do you have WAP on your cell phone ??" and you wonder what kind of idiot would have a "Work Abroad Program" on his phone?

You read the AIESEC Compendium instead of Kotler for your management Exam.

You know you're living @ when:
you "strategise" about asking a girl out with a "Long-term vision" in mind and do a "feasibility study" on whether you should ask her out or not.

when a cartoon burps ..and you put your thumb on your forehead

when a teacher asks a question in the class and you put up a T-sign

When you get a message in you mobile: "DT wanted urgently, call number below. And are you going to be home for lunch? -love Mom"

When an MCP is a guy(girl) to be worshipped !

When u start wondering whether each foreigner u c on the road is a trainee or has ever heard about AIESEC!!!

When you use jejejejejeje to symbolize laughter.

when if your inbox is empty when you open your account, you automatically assume your mail server is down.

you believe mixing drinks means diluting it with a non-alcoholic beverage.

when your parents have to remind u that they're family when u ssoia(start speaking only in acronyms!)...

when inadvertently you address your board members in a BoA meet as "you guys"!
when everybody around you call a friend is an Aiesecer...

when the night before your exams you get more tensed about the accomodation for your incoming trainee instead of your exams..

when if your friends ask you to help them with their comlicated love lives .....you ask them to do a SWOT analysis !!

when u dont feel like dancing to any other songs apart from sexy eyes, cotten eyed joe, can’t get you out of my head. reach for the stars, TOXIC, FIGHTER or LET'S GET STARTED! champion

When you are solving a maths problem, and when you are about to get the answer, you say "Can we Have some Drum Roll's Please" !!(Boom Clap, Boom Clap)

When your Outlook folders are labelled as : matching, regional manager, sonata, TN, eb 2000 e group, eb 2001 e group, JNC, iflex solutions, focus, discussion lists, preparation..etc etc :-)

You know you're living @ when
when instead of studying for ur exams u r sitting online and adding new items to aiesec.net!!

when you introduce yourself like "hello, I'm from (Country), but I was (MCP, MCVP, LCP, LCVP, CEED, etc.) in (other country) last year and (MCP, MCVP, LCP, LCVP, CEED) in (some other country) the year before... And I am planning to go to (other place) as trainee next year. What about you?"

when somebody ask you something and your answer is IT'S UP TO YOU!

WHEN YOU ACTUALLY FIND THESE CONTRIBUTIONS FUNNY !!

Month of Break down!!!

In the past one month, there were 4 laptops broken down in our team. Mindy's, mine, Jacso's and Gary's. I also reminded that flic also was called laptop-killer at that time. Maybe @ers are inborn laptop-killers so that we got so many donations of laptops every year. :P

There will be MCFM on Sat, I suddenly realize how time flies. But when facing to our achievement, it's unbelievable huge. Although we do face a lot of "inkind" challenges, I still think our effort will be paid back one day.

Beautiful Team Day in Stanley Beach

Today we had a very nice team day in Stanley Beach.

Actually it was my 1st team day , So i asked Bom and Andi whether I should take my laptop with me when we were leaving which turned out to gain me many NOs...:(

We firstly had a very fruitful discussion in NLDS05, which makes many many stuff much clearer. But we still have a long long way to go to make the real miracle.

Then we sat on the beach and talked all our personal feelings in the past week, our problems in the hand, etc....and everybody was simply supporting each other. Although the reality is tough, I just felt the warmth of the team.

Today is reality, tomorrow is a dream! Then let's realize the dream together!~ :)
